CSA and Harvest!

Many apologies for my recent silence on the “blog front”. We have been very busy here at Bantry Bay Farm so the interneting has had to take a side-seat.

This week was the first week of CSA pickups! The CSA is the farm’s Community Shared Agriculture program and is a key source of income for the operation. With close to 90 members each week we spend two days harvesting, cleaning, storing, and giving away the produce for that week. This week’s CSA members received: Spinach, Beet Greens, Poc Choy, Kale, Red Sail Lettuce, and Spicy Greens.

Thoughts have been going into what next week’s CSA bags will contain. However, I cannot say with certainty that I know exactly what next week’s harvests will be.

Stay tuned for more CSA news, an updated photo gallery, and some more fun/interesting posts on farm life, work, and play!

  1. Sounds like a great “mixed bag”! Sorry we are so far away, would love to be involved with such a wonderful program. B & G will be visiting you in just a few days. They are really looking forward to seeing what you are up to there on the farm. XO
